Fund-raising run to take place at La Frontera

La Frontera will host the sixth annual Shoes For Austin 5K run Saturday, May 6. The event has been held at La Frontera all six years since its inception.

The SFA 5K is a favorite among competitive and recreational runners and families, and recent runners include Round Rock Mayor Nyle Maxwell and Gov. Rick Perry, among other celebrities.

Shoes For Austin (shoesforaustin.org) is an incentive based nonprofit that awards hard-working underprivileged kids and adults with a brand new pair of name-brand athletic shoes for achieving education and self-improvement goals.

Since its inception, Shoes For Austin has partnered with over 60 local nonprofits and donated more than 35,000 pairs of shoes, valued at over $2.2 million, to deserving children and families throughout the central Texas area.
