Survey: Austin No. 10 among top relocation markets

Austin ranks 10th in a new survey indicating top metropolitan areas under consideration for corporate relocations or expansions.

Austin last appeared in Plants Sites & Parks readers' survey in 2002, when it placed ninth. Before that, it ranked fifth in 2000.

The survey is published each year in the magazine's March issue. Factors for consideration include availability and quality of workforce; access to transportation; general costs; location/logistics/market access; taxes; and cooperation from state and local governments.

Dallas topped this year's list, followed by Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C.; Phoenix; Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C.; Chicago; San Diego; Kansas City; and St. Louis.
