Enjoy the blues and rock style of the Los Lonely Boys at The 2003 Summer Concert Series

Round Rock residents are encouraged to bring a blanket, some lawn chairs and the whole family out to La Frontera's Central Green on May 18 to enjoy music from Los Lonely Boys, a red-hot blues guitar playing, percolating rock and Latin rhythm, Texas-bred trio.

Los Lonely Boys' music is a style of its own. Influenced by diverse musical styles of Tex-Mex, country, blues, and rock, Los Lonely Boys' songs combine sounds from the Beatles and Fats Domino to Stevie Ray Vaughan. They've been described as Latin, Blues and a Texan thing all in one.

Willie Nelson has musically adopted the band after seeing them perform in Austin during the summer of 2001. They have performed at Willie Nelson shows in Texas, and at Farm Aid 2002. Los Lonely Boys have caught the eye of many musical stalwarts while recently performing with Big Head Todd in Houston, Jimmie Vaughan in Austin, Taj Mahal in San Antonio, and with Dickie Betts in New Orleans.

One thing is clear, however, to anyone who hears the group as well as the brothers themselves. "When we three are together, it's there," band member, Henry Garza enthuses. "It's like magic."

This concert, the first of four free concerts scheduled this summer, will be at the La Frontera Green from 7:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m., and is an opportunity for the community to come out and enjoy free live music. Other dates for the Summer Concert Series are June 15, July 20 and August 17. For more information on upcoming concerts, go to the City of Round Rock website at www.ci.round-rock.tx.us or call the Parks and Recreation Office at 512.218.5540.
