Grande to market audio entertainment service

San Marcos-based Grande Communications Inc. will market an audio entertainment service from a New Jersey company, the companies announced Tuesday.

Grande provides high-speed Internet, local and long-distance telephone and cable television services through its broadband network.

Through a marketing partnership with Grande, Audible Inc. [NasdaqADBLC] will supply downloadable spoken audio editions of books, newspapers, magazines, radio programs and original shows.

Listeners can choose from a collection of downloadable audiobooks, and audio subscriptions to newspapers, magazines and public radio programs.

Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Grande Communications' service area includes Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Waco, Corpus Christi, Midland and Odessa.
